The Susceptibility of the Organisms to the Antibiotics

Abstract
1) An observation of bacterial antibiotic susceptibility of 242 bacterial strains isolated from 196 ca s which were admitted to the provincial Sun-chon Hospital during the 2 years from 1971.6 to 1973. 6 is presented.
2) For etiologic microorganisms, staphylococci were most frequently isolated, 46.3 % in incidence.
The order in incidence of isolation of other bacteria is escherichia (16. 5 %), paracolon(13.6%), proteus(8.3%) and pseudomonas(5. 9%).
3) The coagulase(+) staphylococci were sensitive to kanamycin(88oo), neomycin(85¡Æo), erythromycin{74oo , leucomycin, chloromycin and aureomycin in order and the least sensitive to penicillin (10%0).
4) Proteus were sensitive to neomycin, kanamycin and streptomycin in order but relatively resistant to other antibiotic. Pseudomonas were also sensitive to neomycin,. and kanamycin but resistant to all of other antibiotics. The order in sensitivity of paracolon to antibiotics is neomycin, kanamycin, streptomycin and chloromycin. For escherichia, kanamycin, neomycin, streptomycin were sensitive order.
5) The resistance of microorganism to antibiotics was increasing as years go by. The more antibiotics were used, the more antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains developed.
